The written history of Scotland began with the arrival of Romans in southern and central great Britain.Scotland played a major role in World War 2.It specially provided Britain with  manpower,ships,machinery,fish and money.  Scotland waters consists of largest oil reserves in European Union.Scotland has a GDP of $245 billion with per capita income of  $44,378 as of 2012.



Independence Referendum.

Following an agreement between the British and Scotland administration a bill for the referendum was passed by the Scottish parliament in November 2013.All resident of Scotland aged 16 and above were given the right to vote amounting to about 4.3 million people.The referendum took place on 18th September 2014 and Scots ultimately decided to stay with Britain.A huge relief for the British government which was trying desperately to keep Scotland within its domain.55.30% of the Scots chose to stay with Britain and 46 % voted in favor of an independent Scotland.0.09% of the votes were invalid.
