Minar-e-Pakistan is a public monument located in Iqbal Park Lahore.The construction for Minar-e-Pakistan was started in 1960 and completed in 1968.The parks around the monument include artificial lake and marble fountains.The total height of the structure is 203 ft and it was built to commemorate the success of Pakistan movement in the 1940s.
Tomb of Jahangir
Tomb of Jahangir is a mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir who ruled the Mughal Empire from 1605 to 1627.The mausoleum is located in Shadrah Bagh in Lahore Pakistan.The tomb is a UNESCO world heritage site .The tomb suffered damage at the hands the Rajputs and the Hakims of Lahore before it was repaired during the British Raj.
Badshai Mosque
is a mosque located in Lahore adjacent to the Minar-e-Pakistan.The mosque was built during the era of Mughal Empire by Aurangzeb Alamgir.The construction for the mosque was started in 1671 and completed in 1673.The mosque is the second largest mosque of Pakistan and is the fifth largest in the world.It is the most famous landmark of Lahore and a major tourist attraction.
Shalimar Gardens
Shalimar Gardens are also on of the major tourist attraction in Lahore.The Shalimar Gardens are located near Baghbanpura along the Grand Trunk Road.The Shalimar Gardens are laid in the form of an oblong Parallelogram. The Shalimar Gardens have a total of 410 fountains.The surrounding area is cooled by the flowing of fountains.The water system in the Shalimar Gardens is considered a technological marvel of the Mughal engineers.The Shalimar Gardens was under the leader ship of Arain Mian Family for more than 350 years until it was nationalized by Ayub Khan.
Wazir Khan Mosque
Located in Lahore Pakistan Wazir Khan Mosque has been described as a "mole on the cheek of Lahore".The construction for the mosque was started in 1634 and was completed in seven years.The mosque contains some of the finest examples of Qashani Tile Work from the Mughal Period.The mosque is most easily accessed from the Delhi Gate
Lahore Fort
Lahore Fort was built during the period of Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great between 1556 and 1605.The fort has two sections the Administrative section and the Private Section.The fort is dominated by the Persian Style of Architecture and is UNESCO world heritage site.The origins of the fort of Lahore are not known clearly with estimates dating back to 9th century AD.Lahore fort has been destroyed and rebuilt many times.The Pakistan Pavilion at EXPO 2010 is the replica of Lahore Fort.
Lahore Zoo
Lahore Zoo is also one of the most popular tourist attraction.It is the largest zoo in Pakistan and one of the largest in South Asia.The zoo houses a collection of 1380 animals of 136 different species.It is third or fourth oldest zoo in the world.The Lahore Zoo was opened for Public in 1872.The Zoo receives more than 3 million visitors annually.Lahore Zoo Safari constructed on an area of 98 hectares was opened for public in 2009 and is located 30 km from the Lahore Zoo.The Zoo is located on Mall Road Lahore.
