Does P.K Really Disrespect Religion

The Indian movie P.K starring Aamir Khan which was released on 18th December 2014  created a lot of controversy in the subcontinent.It was deemed as being disrespectful and mocking towards different religions and religious groups demanded a ban on the movie as it was considered to be hurtful towards the religious sentiments of various communities.The film  sparked protests in various regions all over India.The film was also criticized in Pakistan and was bashed publicly as being a film that makes fun of God and the faith of people.

If you watch the movie closely and analyze it with an open mind you will come to know that what the movie depicts is true.There is a thriving trend in both India and Pakistan where people are using religion to earn money and make a fortune for themselves.In Pakistan one can find these kind of people in every street who use religion for their benefit.They create anarchy in the mind of people and then use it for their monetary gains.The main antagonist shown in the movie seemingly has the power to talk to God and cure people's problems.This is true for every such person.They portray themselves as being super human  and appear to have abilities far beyond the domain of an ordinary human being.They can apparently cure diseases of all sorts without even looking at the patient,solve monetary problems,end the rift among family members and some of them even claim to predict future.Whats more baffling is that how can a Muslim fall for such non sense. Quran the ultimate source of guidance for human beings clearly states that no person other than Allah knows what's in store for a person in near future.Every day thousands of Muslims inspite of having the best book to guide them fall victim to such people.The main reason that these people succeed in making a fool of us is because we do not make an effort to understand religion.About 90-95% of our population knows how to read the Quran but sadly the number of people who understand what the Quran is saying is very low.Approximately only 1% our may be even less than that reads Quran with translation Hence very few people truly understand religion.

Does this mean that all the spiritual people are wearing masks and their sole purpose is to earn money.The answer is NO.There are a lot of religious people out there who are devoid of such notions.They inspire you,guide you and enrich you with their ideas and are great in helping you to truly understand religion.These are the people we should look up to if we need any kind of guidance or help in religious matters.

According to Aamir Khan the people who were leading the outcry against this film were the people who were most likely to be harmed by the message that is preached through the movie P.K.Those who do not want change because of their own benefits and want to maintain the statusquo were the ones who were organizing protests against the film.He further added that people needed to be careful about these kind of people.
