A list of statistical achievements of Pakistani Players

In the recently concluded test series between Pakistan and Australia  many records were broken and many new records were created .Following is a  list of records which were created in this series.

  • Younus Khan became the first player to score twin hundreds in a single  test match against  Australia in 90 years.He scored 106 in the first innings of the first test and followed it up by 103 in the second innings.

  • Younus Khan's Aggregate of 468 runs is the highest versus Australia in a two test match series.Previously this record was held by Sachin Tendulkar who racked up 403 runs in the Border Gavaskar Trophy held in India in 2010.

  • Pakistan's margin of win 356 runs in the second test match is their highest versus any opposition.Their previous best was 341 runs when they beat India at Karachi in 2006.This is Australia's third worst loss in terms of runs.Their highest is by 675 runs against England.

  • Misbah-ul-Haq equaled the record of fastest test hundred during the second test match.He scored the century on 56 deliveries.The record for the fastest hundred is now jointly held by Sir Viv Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq.

  • Pakistan scored a total of 1603 runs for the loss of 21 wickets whereas Australia scored a total of 985 runs for the loss of 40 wickets.This is Australia's worst series in terms of differential average.The conceded nearly 76 runs per wicket whereas Pakistani Bowlers conceded only 24.625 runs per wicket.

  • A total of  9 centuries were scored by Pakistan .This is the highest number of centuries scored in a two match test series.No other team has scored more than six hundreds.

  • Younus Khan became the 33rd player in history to score 3 consecutive hundreds when he scored 213 in the first innings of the second test match.

  • It  was only the second time that two players from the same team have scored consecutive hundreds in a test match.Both Misbah and Azhar Ali scored centuries in both innings of  the second test match.Previously this record was held by the Chappell Brothers of Australia.

  • Misbah-ul-Haq reached his fifty of just 21 deliveries in 24 minutes .This is the fastest fifty both in terms of time and deliveries consumed.

  • Following their 2-0 victory over Australia Pakistan have beaten Australia for the first time  in nearly 20 years.
