The Man who Changed History



Muhammad Ali Jinnah more popularly known as Quaid-e-Azam was born on 25th December 1876 to Jinnahbhai Poonja and his wife Mithibai in a rented apartment on the second floor of Wazir mansion in Karachi.Jinnah family was of Ismaili Khoja branch of Shia Islam .Jinnah was offered a apprenticeship in London by a business associate of his father ,however,Jinnah gave up this opportunity to study law,Dissatisfied by law Jinnah also briefly embarked upon a stage carrier with a Shakespearean company but gave up after receiving a stern letter from his father.







When Jinnah began his practice in Bombay he was the only Muslim barrister in the city.English had become his principle language and would continue to remain so throughout his life.Jinnah was a strong supporter of Hindu Muslim Unity in the early stages of his career,however, later events changed his mind and he gave up his quest to unite the two nations under a single flag.Jinnah was looked after by his sister Fatima Jinnah  following his separation from his second wife in 1919.Jinnah began to suffer from lung ailments in early 30's which would eventually kill him.




Jinnah was the main architect behind the creation of an independent Pakistan and received only Rs 1 salary as the Governor General of Pakistan,however,heavy work load took a toll on his health and this great Pakistani Leader breathed his last on 11th September 1948 and was buried in Karachi amid official mourning in both India and Pakistan. He is viewed as the best leader Pakistan has ever produced and is admired equally by his rivals.
