1. Murree was originally developed for the British troops garrisoned in Afghanistan as a sanatorium.
2.The permanent town of Murree was constructed at Sunny Bank in 1853.
3.The Mall Road of Murree was developed by the British in 1853.
4.British allowed construction on only one side of the Mall road,however,this law was allowed to be violated in 1990 which has resulted in unnecessary construction in Murree damaging its natural beauty.

6. Murree was declared summer capital of Punjab in 1873.
7.A railway connection was also established between Murree and Lahore by the British.
8.The population of Murree in 1901 was 1844 however in tourist season this population increased to 10000.
9.Till 1922 only Tongas and Bull carts used to run between Murree and Rawalpindi.
